The Teen Project
The Teen Project provides transitional housing for foster children that have been released from foster care. According to the state, a child is no longer eligible for foster care at age 17 1/2. Once on the street, 4 out of 5 teens go straight into homeless shelters. The Teen Project’s goal is to give every child a roof, a bed, and an equal chance at life.

Some teens never get the chance to be teens. A shocking 25% of the almost 25,000 homeless youth in California were in foster care just last year. They were cast out of the system without a place to go simply because they turned 17½ years old. We must succeed where the law fails. The Teen Project™ will provide safe transitional housing, personal and career counseling, and ongoing support through the Friends for Life™ program, providing every teen with an equal chance at life.
